One example of this commitment is our member-exclusive program called Structurally Sound, which leverages our partnerships with industry-leading suppliers and contractors to educate our customers on practices for properly maintaining a greenhouse.
In addition to webinars, our Structurally Sound program also affords members with an opportunity to leverage their aggregated buying power to obtain discounted pricing on products and services that support their operations.
In 2016, we worked with Midwest Greenhouse Supply (MGS), a greenhouse supply and construction company located in Strongsville, Ohio, with more than 80 years of industry experience, to launch a solution-based glazing program that’s customized to meet desired outcomes at discounts of up to 30 percent. This discount can be used for all polyethylene greenhouse coverings, not just replacements.
MGS uses a solution-based vs. cost-based model to best meet your needs. They will help you decide what kind of covering you need, advise on proper measurements, include proper shading or inflation, and perform custom cutting.
This member-only program also enables our customers the ability to have their glazing purchases installed by MGS’s parent company, L.L. Klink.
The benefit of this arrangement doesn’t end once your greenhouse covering is installed. MGS will help you develop a plan to maintain your greenhouse coverings, communicating with you to see if maintenance is needed. They will also reach out near the end of the greenhouse covering’s lifespan for replacement options.
This is the only self-performed supply and installation service in the marketplace. Hortica and MGS continue to expand the products and services offered in this program and explore new solutions for members.
Contact MGS directly to learn more about this exclusive Hortica value-added member benefit and to obtain a free consultation on ways to reduce your greenhouse operational costs.
You can learn more about this program and greenhouse covering maintenance in the Structurally Sound webinar, Poly 101: Key to success in polyethylene maintenance. This resource is for Hortica members only. If you have not signed on to become a Hortica member and would like to, please contact us.
With 130 years of experience in the horticultural industry, we continue to leverage our reach across the industry and create solutions focused on the success of each of our policyholders.
