Welcome to the Independent Garden Center (IGC) Show, dedicated exclusively to independent garden centers. The IGC Chicago Show takes place Aug. 15–17 on the Navy Pier in Festival Hall.
The IGC Show, now in its 11th year, is the world’s largest trade show and conference for independent garden center owners, managers, and buyers. The IGC Show presents an expansive and carefully selected showcase of garden center products available at wholesale from around the world.
Attendees can look forward to a three-day trade show, garden center tours, educational seminars, keynote speakers, networking opportunities, and even concerts after show hours.
New this year is an area dedicated to new product showcases in the aptly named New Product Zone. In addition, the New Plant Zone features the latest plant introductions, and a New Vendor Zone showcases businesses new to the garden center market. These companies have never exhibited at an industry trade event before. This area is a great opportunity to make some new business contacts.
A big part of the IGC show is the opportunity to participate in the various interactive workshops. Some of the topics this year include:
- Cashing in on the shop local movement
- Seasonal resets and store development solutions
- Putting profits first
- Managing garden center stress
- Using Google to power market research
Before the exhibit hall opens each day, keynote speakers provide a fresh dose of education and inspiration. Here’s the keynote speaker lineup:
- John Stanley: Discusses the findings from the international IGC Think Tank meeting in Paris.
- Robert O’Neill: Offers management and team leadership lessons.
- Bob Phibbs: Helps independent garden centers create a unique customer experience.
You can find out more about the IGC’s keynote speakers here.

- Aquascape, St. Charles
